The Domestic Authorities

Never ever disagree with the wife on matters  of engineering!

WomanAngry-medium.jpg

Whether we call her the" D.A", or the "one that shall be obeyed" , fact is, that with all this machining stuff, you have to keep on her good side!

Stuff like: "I know it costs more, but it will be cheaper in the long run" won't wash! Trust me, I have been there...

The best thing for the Engineering enthusiast, are repairs!

Always point out, in domestic repairs, what machinery you have used, and how you couldn't have done the job, without it.

It doesn't work either, but most women  appreciate the effort....

If you say: "see now honey, isn't it lucky I got us that new wood turning lathe, or I would have never been able to mend that table leg" , you deserve  to get hit by a rolling pin!

Don't go there!

Be subtle! Tell her, that the job was made easier, because she was willing enough to let you spend all that hard earned money on all "those lumps of metal "in your shop.

Metal swarf and or sawdust, or not the things that are appreciated on the front room carpet, so be warned!

Nor are sharp screwdrivers, in your back pocket, when you fall in the sofa!

I was told the following, on a morning...and it may serve as a potent reminder of how fragile, our situation is!

"It is not natural, when your husband starts to be right about things,it shows bad management"
